Master Thesis

Since many years back, we have offered 6 to 8 Master Thesis projects yearly offering real life engineering from the forefront of embedded and cloud-based software products within automotive industry. Every year, we are astonished by the high level of knowledge, enthusiasm, and curiosity by all the Master Thesis students we have had the pleasure to work with for several months. Besides, not only get they to deep-dive in real life engineering topics and challenges and get a glimpse of working life, but also we at NIRA learn new things by mentoring and finding new ways of thinking to solve problems and find solutions. When you choose to do your Master Thesis at NIRA, you will get a dedicated mentor and a skilled team who will got your back and support you throughout the whole project. When you join us, you will be working with some of the best engineers in the industry. You will also become a part of a company filled with great and easy-going people and a supportive culture.

What we are extra happy and proud of is that every year we sign an employment contract with several of our Master Thesis students and welcome them to NIRA directly after their graduation.

Summer internship

Each year, we run NIRA Engineering Summer Internship with the purpose of finding talents for different parts of our expanding organization on site at our office in Linköping. The internship is designed to give you an understanding of our core business and to start building a network within our organization. You will get the opportunity to experience real life engineering work that covers a broad range of interesting challenges to tackle. You will quickly be able to apply your knowledge to real-world applications, from developing onboard systems used by world-leading car manufacturers to working offboard, cloud-based innovations for autonomous cars. When it comes to the tasks at hand, we aim to adapt them to the student's education and interests. Therefore, we try to offer projects within a variety of different languages and frameworks including C, C++, Matlab, Python, React.js, Vue.js, k8s, airflow, etc. At NIRA, you can make a difference for the next level of mobility. You will be given a mentor, you will learn, and you will thrive. 

Tekniksprånget

Tekniksprånget is a paid internship program where Swedish employers, in collaboration with the government, invest to secure Sweden's future competence supply by attracting more young people to pursue higher technical education. Through a four-month internship, students who have completed an upper secondary school (science/technology program) get the chance to practically experience the engineering profession. The aim is to inspire them to pursue higher technical education and provide a clearer picture of what awaits after their studies. A fantastic and important initiative that NIRA supports by welcoming two interns to join us during the autumn.

Tekniksprånget is a paid internship where those aged 18-21 get the chance to try out the engineering profession for four months. It’s an opportunity to earn money, make connections, and get a head start in your career.
