Meet Elna & Sophie, NIRA’s Tekniksprånget Interns

Elna and Sophie began their four-month internship at NIRA Dynamics this autumn through Tekniksprånget, a Swedish program that gives young people a hands-on introduction to engineering careers at top companies across Sweden. 

 Elna had recently completed her studies in Natural Sciences with a Social Science focus at Kunskapsgymnasiet Norrköping, while Sophie graduated from Platengymnasiet’s Natural Sciences program. Both were thrilled to join NIRA, where they found the perfect setting to dive into the engineering field. Elna shares, “It’s exceeded my expectations. The program was fantastic, I already knew I wanted to be an engineer, but this helped me choose my specific path. I’ll be studying Mechanical Engineering.” Sophie agrees, adding, “It’s been both fun and educational. I’ve found my direction too and will be studying Industrial Economics.” 

 Throughout their time at NIRA, Elna and Sophie rotated across departments, tackling different tasks and collaborating with various teams. They even had the opportunity to attend a three-day company retreat in Ystad, focused on innovation, company culture, and how NIRA can become an even more attractive employer. Reflecting on their experience, they said, “Everyone here has been inclusive, supportive, and well-prepared. We were able to work on real tasks and even learned programming!” 

 When asked if they’d recommend Tekniksprånget to others, they responded with an enthusiastic “yes.” “It’s a fantastic way to get a true sense of engineering work, gain valuable experience, and meet new people. We highly recommend it!” 

 They also noted NIRA’s welcoming environment: “The atmosphere here is open; everyone is supportive, and there’s a strong sense of community. The company culture is great. 

 For Elna and Sophie, Tekniksprånget was more than just an internship; it was a springboard into engineering, providing them with practical experience and a clearer vision for their careers.
